Where will you wear your next pair?
Start from your day instead of the shoe. Each tile opens the pairs the Elvora team would put on for it.

What the Elvora construction does for your day
Three details from the Elvora approach, each one measured in inches or counted in holes.
A platform under the toe
On our loafers and platform Mary Janes, a 1.3-inch platform sits under the ball of your foot and a 2.7-inch block heel sits behind it, so your foot rests on about an inch and a half of slope.
A strap that holds the shoe
Every Mary Jane closes with a strap across the instep. The shoe stays on your foot without your toes clawing to keep it there, and you can buckle it a hole tighter on a narrow foot.
Holes that let water out
The water shoe has six drainage holes in each sole and a stretch mesh upper, so water runs back out of the shoe as you step out of the river.
Elvora lines
Elvora lines people ask for by name
Elvora platform loafers for a long workday
A lug sole with a 1.3-inch platform and a 2.7-inch block heel, in black patent, black matte, burgundy, navy blue, white and two browns. Take the gold-tone bit for a desk and a dinner, or the penny strap with socks and a pleated skirt.
Elvora Mary Jane shoes, flat or on a platform
The strap over your instep does the work, so the shoe stays on without your toes gripping. Take the platform for height on a steady base, the velvet for evenings, or the knit flat when your toes want room.
Elvora velvet Mary Janes for the colder months
Black, burgundy, blush and brown velvet on the chunky platform sole. Burgundy looks almost black by day and wine-red under a lamp, and black velvet runs the widest size range, from 6 to 12.
Elvora water shoes for rocks, docks and pool decks
Six drainage holes in each sole, quick-dry mesh and grooved rubber for wet stone. One pair fits women and men, sized women’s 6 to 15 or men’s 4 to 13, in twelve colors.
Elvora flip-flops with an arch in the footbed
A contoured EVA footbed with a raised arch and a canvas toe post, in woven or two-tone straps. Paired sizes from 7 to 8 up to 13, made for pool decks and beach days rather than long walks.
Before you order
How to choose your Elvora size
Six things to measure or notice before you pick a number from the Elvora size run. None of them takes more than a minute.
The full size and fit guideMeasure late in the day
Your feet swell as the day goes on. Measure after work, not first thing in the morning, and you will buy the size you need at 6 p.m.
Measure both feet
One foot is often longer than the other. Stand on a sheet of paper, mark heel and longest toe on each, and fit the longer foot.
Leave a finger’s width
With your weight on the shoe, you want about half an inch, roughly a finger’s width, between your longest toe and the tip.
Check the heel on a slip-on
A loafer has no strap to take up slack. Walk across the room: if your heel lifts out of the back, the pair is too long.
Go up a half size in the knit flat
The knit barefoot Mary Jane runs in paired wide sizes. We suggest the half size up from your usual number.
Read the water shoe as unisex
Water shoe sizes are printed as women’s and men’s at once: a women’s 9 is a men’s 7.

Who we are
What Elvora makes, and for whom
The people at Elvora have been designing shoes for 7 years, and the collection is split between two kinds of day. There are the shoes you wear to be seen, chunky loafers and Mary Janes on a platform, and the shoes you wear to get somewhere wet, warm or muddy. The about page tells the longer story.
Journal
Fit notes from our journal
Three guides for the questions we hear most: heel height and fit, wet days, and the shoes you wear indoors.
The journal
How to size Elvora platform loafers and Mary Janes
Measuring your feet at home, testing a slip-on at the heel, buckling a Mary Jane strap, and what a 2.7-inch heel on a 1.3-inch platform means for your day.
Water shoes or flip-flops: what to wear by the water
Pool decks, beaches, tide pools and rivers each ask something different of a shoe. When to reach for a flip-flop, when to lace up a water shoe, and how to size both.
What to wear on your feet at home
Socks on hardwood, open-back slippers on stairs, and when a strapped flat is the better house shoe, with the advice the National Institute on Aging gives on smooth soles.
