Both of our platform loafers stand on the same lug sole: a 1.3-inch platform under the ball of your foot and a 2.7-inch block heel behind it. The heel is taller than the platform by about an inch and a half, and that difference, not the number on the heel, is the slope your foot rests on all day.
Pick the one with the metal bit across the vamp if you want the shoe to read dressy under wide trousers, or the penny strap if you wear them with socks and a pleated skirt. In brown, the penny trades its strap for a slim metal bit, so the two loafers meet in the middle.
