Shoes you dress for
Most of our collection stands on one sole. It has a 1.3-inch platform under the toes and a 2.7-inch block heel. We put it under a patent loafer with a gold-tone bit, a penny loafer, a glossy Mary Jane and a velvet one. You get the height of a chunky heel, and your foot rests on about an inch and a half of slope. Underneath runs a lugged PU tread for grip.
The colors come from the same wardrobe logic. Black comes in patent and in matte, because those two finishes behave differently on a commute. Burgundy, navy and white are there for the days a black shoe feels too quiet. The velvets are for evenings and colder months.
Shoes for wet, warm and muddy days
The other half of Elvora is built for water and for rest. Our barefoot water shoe drains through six holes in each sole and grips wet rock. The men’s flip-flops put a raised arch into an EVA footbed. The knit barefoot Mary Jane flat gives your toes a wide, rounded box to spread out in. Then there are house slippers on memory foam for the end of the day.
How we talk about fit
We write down what is measurable about each pair: heel and platform height, the upper, the sole, and every size each color is cut in. What we do not do is promise what a shoe will do for your feet. When a page gives fit advice, it names where the advice comes from, such as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons or the American Podiatric Medical Association.
