The two platform Mary Janes share a sole and a strap and differ only in the upper. The glossy pair comes in black, coffee, brown and khaki. The velvet pair in black, burgundy, blush and brown. Glossy wipes clean after rain, and velvet wants a dry day and a soft brush.
A buckled strap is more forgiving on fit than a slip-on. If your foot is narrow, you can take the strap in a hole and keep the heel from lifting. If it is high across the instep, the strap sits over the top of the foot rather than cutting into it.
